About every minute or so the return from my refugium spits out thousands of tiny bubbles into my tank......so my water never looks clear. I have watched the refugium where the pump is and I don't see any bubbles entering the pump. Does anyone know a solution for this problem. It's driving me nuts!

Try putting a 90 on the intake of the pump and point it towards the bottom of the refugium. That will keep you from sucking air in from the surface.

Or there is a tiny hole that isn't sealed in your plumbing that is acting as a venturi and sucking a small amount of air. If your sump water level isn't very high I would definitely try mikester's suggestion.

sump level

I'm running a submersible pump and can't modify the intake....but it is way below the water level. So are there any tricks on identifying a tiny hole in your plumbing?

you can try to go back and seal all connections with pvc cement. Or you may get lucky and it will seal itself with salt creep etc.

I have this problem with my maxijets sometimes.. and they just need a vinegar cleaning. Take your pump out and soak it in vinegar for over 10 mins. Then hand clean it until it looks like new. If its never been cleaned, you can replace the vinegar an run the pump with clean vinegar. You will be amazed at all the junk you'll see that was trapped in the pump causing it to hold pockets of bubbles.

Hopefully its as easy as this. What kind of pump is it?

U might want to check the impeller and the shaft that hold the impller in place...
Maybe one of the blade of the impller could be damage
