Ok had ordered a Geo 2 weeks ago. Thought I would check on it and the dealer says minimum 2 months. First off it was so wrong for them to charge my card knowing this
and not saying it. Second asking what reactors are you using and liking. My second choice was CR 220 Bubble magnus. Already have second booster chamber so I dont need that. What would you buy? About a 600 gal sys not spending over a grand.

In my opinion they look good, build quality is good, and the price is right.

I have a used deltec pf601 for cheap rated for 520g but it’s oversized in my opinion. It’s a Frankenstein and not display quality but works perfectly fine. I did buy the dastaco for the big tank and worth every damn penny in my honest opinion

I like my Geo. It's an older model now and bubbles accumulate at the top (kind of annoying) but works like a champ & the new versions have solved the bubble issue. But I wouldn't want t wait 2 months!

My GEO had bubbles and the build quality was lacking for me. It’s cast acrylic which is good, but the bubble counter was cheaply made. I always had cavitation. The Sicce pump was kinda loud and the vibration was more than I would like. The key hole slots on the lid are kinda a pain. The reactors are simple and they definitely work, but this time I’m gonna go a different route. Greg Carrol and Keith Berkelhamer both went with the RO and I’ll be the 3rd. They have given positive feedback. For me I’m looking for a solid build, a quiet pump, easy access, and performance.

It looks cool and all but I have two reactors with twist off lids like that. They suck when everything is attached. keyhole is way easier.

So you just leave it attached. Hmm. That might be doable. Never thought about that, but I never needed to get into the reactor after it was running.

I was reading some reviews on the RO and a couple guys were saying they were having issues with cavitation and the recirculating loop. Kinda seems like all these things have bad reviews. I just emailed Keith to get his input on those specific things. We’ll see what he says.

So the way the older model GEO reactors pulled the effluent out, there is an area at the top that collects bubbles. I can fix it by tapping the top, but the bubbles don't really bother me. The newer version changed how the effluent is pulled/pushed out & there are no bubbles.

older image #1 see the air recirc pipe ate the top.

Newer recric on the side effluent out the top & a second tap as well. CR618.jpg OLDER 618.jpg

Maybe I should get another GEO and change out the pump to a VarioS. I just don't know if I wanna wait 2-3 months for it to be built.

That recirculation loop on the RO worries me. Cavitation is loud if that is happening and I don't need to hear that in my living room. Haven't head back from Keith yet.

I'm gonna try and get ahold of Greg Carrol and see what he says about his. Last I heard he was liking it.

Have you looked at the deltec twintech, dastaco, or aquarium engineering units? The AE is made of PVC. All three are top choices.
Yes I have. I'm a huge Deltec fan. The Dastaco is very interesting unit for sure. The aquarium engineering guy is brilliant, but his company worries me a little (not that I've heard anything bad). I just feel like when I purchase something that is 1K or more...I want make sure the company is really established that way I know I can get replacements or whatever it may be. I really don't know too much about that guy or hear that much about him or his company. BRS on the other hand, Deltec North America, Dastaco, and Reef Octopus are all good to go. I'm not against any of them...just making sure I make a good purchase.
