i got 2 of these that are about an inch long not sure if i can put it in my reef tank or not

If I'm not mistaken that looks like good old galveston bay and beach hermits. I wouldn't put them in my reef tank...I've kept a couple in my sump just to keep it clean down there, but I wouldn't consider my display tank the right place for them. Even if they don't eat corals, have you seen how big those guys get? They'll be ripping everyone out of their shells trying to find new homes. Just my thoughts on the matter...I'd rathe stick with tried and somewhat true species.

I've seen one grab ahold of a yellow tang and pluck its eyes out. They are very aggressive. I would just go ahead and try to find it a new home.

The yellow tang lived for a while but had a hard time getting food so it was finaly put out of its misery. No comment on the hermits fate....
