Not familiar with tangs really and can't seem to find anything about people having both of those particular tangs housed in the same tank. So I was wondering if you introduce a small purple tang(3") and a small white tail bristletooth tang(3") at the same time will they likely be okay together? Or would you say it's a no go?

How big is your tank? They should get along since they are both small right now. But tangs need a lot of swimming room and if the space is too small, they will get on each other's nerves. I have 6 Zebrasomas together in one tank and that is considered a no no by the tang police, but I have a lot of space so they can get away from one another.

They would be in a 90 but once larger I'll likely sell them.

You should be fine but 3" PT is big. Get something like 1.5-2".

PT is usually territorial so make that one of your final wish list fish.

I had one that was a bully regardless of what fish I introduced. And my tank was 63x33.

Yes tried that couple of times.

FJW carry really small ones and great price. That's the only place I would buy a PT.

Threw both my small 2" purple and slightly larger powder blue at same time. The large existing yellow bullied them at first but they're all happy now. The powder is agressive with me if my face is near his tank lol.
