My green monti is growing like crazy and I am now having a coral war going on. Is there a way to pull the green monti off the rock without breaking the rock into pieces?
A flat screwdriver works good to scrape the monti off the rock near the other coral, but there's no way to get the monti off without breaking it into a million pieces. The rock itself will be fine.
+1 on the screwdriver. I have some cheap chisels I bought at harbor freight that I use to do similar jobs. It will break though, best route is to try and take some of the underlying rock off not just the coral.
Is it possible to pull the rock(s) that the two monti's are on? If so you might be able to use a dremmel to make one large frag of the plating one and just leave small piece behind on the rock (or chisel it off to).
