Has anyone here had any success with this device? I have made one out of a 5 gallon bucket.. I am still trying to fine tune it as to the input volume and the output pipes depth from the surface... I could be getting about 4 gallon surge but right now it starts it dump at around the 2.5 gallon level.... anyone have any suggestions? The 5 gallon bucket is at a height of about 9 feet.. and the pump is rated about 375 per gallon.. (pond pump) top of the water level from the bottom of the bucket is approx 2 feet...

I am trying to get to the next level of corals and found they need this water circulation... I have searched this topic for a couple days.. am this is where I am at with the topic so far...

thanks Cope.

Wow Andrew Trevor Jones's website - that sure brings back memories!

A Carlson surge is good for just about any kind of corals as it provides a large pulse of water (and bubbles unfortunately).

Cheers
