I have had a small blue carpet under 4 T5s for over a year and it has not lost any of it's color. Just make sure you get a healthy one and feed it often.

My green carpet preferred gentle flow instead of high flow. It would move away from the high flow area in the tank.

Correct - carpet anemones typically choose a spot w/ low current to attach. In the wild they are actually found living out on the sand.

I think your sand bed isn't quite large enough for a carpet Andy. If I were you I'd get a different color morph of bta if you want more anemone action. Plus carpets are notorious fish eaters.

My tank was BB. I don't think you need a sand bed for carpet if that's what you meant.

Depends upon type, some species prefer rocks while some need a 6"+ SB to bury their foot in. look it up before you buy.

+1 with hank, it depends on the species of carpet...hadoni's enjoy sand where gigantica's and mertini's will tolerate rock work.

Also depends on your T5 setup (lamps, reflectors, etc.). At 10" away I would say that you should be just fine, but again there are varibles involved.

Flow wise, let the carpet go where he wants to go. It will look for optimum flow first and lighting second.
