I put a big portion of chaeto in my refugium with some calurpa. the chaeto wasnt growing so i took out the caluerpa. now my big ball of chaeto has dewindled to about a quarter cup. I had about 3 cups worth. I thought this stuff would grow better than caluerpa? The lights com on at 5 or 7 in morining and dont go off until 12 at night. I cant sleep with the light on. The only thing I have in my refugium is sand, brisil worms, mini stars and snails. Any info would help.

thanks

Hmmm... I'm not sure how strong that light is or how far it is from the macroalga... I use a 150W incandescent plant grow light and everything grows like weed.

I'm using a 13w PC over my HOB 18" refugium and the stuff is dark green and growing awesome. I also have some Halimeda that appears to be growing on some small pieces of LR in the same refuge. I run reverse lighting.
