Yep I was aware of this through R2R, where the news always comes first.
Although when I did my test with the lot#5555 it came down on a test results of 8.3ppm, when I used the lot#5317 my results were 8.1.
Conclusion: YES you get a false reading, NO it isn't on dangerous levels.
Hanna had this happening one time before and all who applied for a service complain on this got there regent replaced.

I'm with Diesel on this one. The precision should still be there but the accuracy may be a bit off. If your corals are happy, what does it matter as long as its within the accepted ranges of 7-11 dKh. The more important thing is keeping it stable and you can still do that with the bad reagents.

Once they send me a new bottle, I'll use that one as the reference and continue to use the old bottles and correct for it. Thanks Hanna for the 3 free reagent bottles!

Just checked my bottle using the link and it was 'defective.' The following replacement submission form was simple and quick. Yeah, free new reagents.

Is the lot number on the little bottle itself or is it on the box the bottle comes in? I'll need to check mine tonight when I get home. I don't have the box anymore though. Hopefully the lot number is on the bottle also.

The lot # is on the box and the bottle. Just checked mine and it was bad so I will be getting a replacement. I was wondering what was wrong with mine. I stopped using it months ago because I kept getting inconsistent readings back too back between 7-9 dkh.
