Im currently using one in my large tank to help with high nitrates. In another week I will change it out for a new one. Then hopefully be done with them.

Andy a little trick I learned a couple of years ago. When you turn the skimmer back on if you have room pull the cap off of the cup and get a wet vac and pull the skim off of the top. You will have to replace some saltwater but it speeds the process up bigtime.

The only time I used it, it killed 95% of a good-sized Acropora colony, even though I added an airstone and did the water change just like the directions said. It did a great job of getting rid of the cyano, but losing a good coral wasn't worth it.

48 hours recommended on water change. 20% but I do 30%. I keep some on hand but like you haven't needed it in years. Your post got me to wondering about mine and expiration dates. I don't see any but I know it is over 2 yrs old.
