Are they under new management or something? Prices seem way too high, fish are all in ick-infested tanks, and the corals are extremely rough these days. What happened while I was on hiatus? Anyone know?

Q and Paul are still going strong at TNT. Disappointing to hear about City Pets. I saw them training folks a few months ago but didn't know they were going to sell.

Their coral selection has been poor for the last 9 months compared to what it used to be. But their dry goods are always on par or cheaper.

I went to buy some corals and fish and the price is higher than it use to be. Think I need to find another store around town.

FJW Aquarium is your best bet - Dennis is throwing a shindig this Saturday, you should check it out

That really sucks! I loved working with David and Donny. They would always special order stuff for me and say hi when I entered the store.

I started shopping at City Pets back in 1990. Really sad to see the family sell and leave the hobby.

I think you are overly harsh on them Leo. Above you are describing almost every store in Houston. Some of these stores move hundreds of fish a week so Ick exists in the tanks regardless if it's visible or not. Some stores use tons of copper and very very low salinity to fight Ick.....that's not their fault. It's your job to QT the new fish.

When it comes to corals, spoke to Donny probably a year ago and he said no more SPS and some softies. So yes they were not brining it many corals.

My frineds and I are still having great luck with their angel fish. Some of my best marine angels came from CP.

I apologize, John. I didn't mean to come-off as overly harsh. I still shop there for some items; it just went downhill from where they used-to be.

I, honestly, thought I was being pretty nice with my statements, though. I only mentioned "some" of the problems I saw in there. It was news to me that they sold the business... Maybe they're just going through a "storming" phase (forming, storming, norming, conforming, adjourning, etc... for those that know that process).

That had a lot of bicolor angels in there. They did, indeed, look well.

I don't understand why your apologizing... You made comment and asked a question based on prior experience and current observations.

No need to apologize, it's open forum. We all have opinions. :D
