Found a couple totes on fakebook for sale cheap and wondered if anyone has any experience cleaning these up. The sign on the side says corrosive which scares me but the current owners say they water trees with them and wash hands. Made me think at worse apply a 10:1 water to bleach mix and let it soak for a week. Then rinse and refill with chlorine killer. Works for my rocks... Other people use Dawn and then baking soda to clean them. My only concern is the plastic absorbing something toxic and leaching into my RODI water. Hmm, I could also let it sit for a week and send off and ICP test on it...

I would like to use these as RODI and saltwater storage. They are huge and would take up a ton of space but must admit the extra water would be great.

You know, I saw these a few years back for maybe $100 a pop. I had the same plan as you but went for a smaller footprint. If they have been used to hold water for some time then I think they’re ok.

Found a couple that held honey or bleach...both of those can be cleaned so that doesn't bother me any more. I am mostly concerned with space. While my garage/fish room has some size now, 2 of these 4ft x 4ft 275 totes will eat up a ton of space. Garage is only 8ft tall so cannot stack them. Still $90 for two is crazy cheap!!! Saw another set for $80 for 2.
