I'm planning on tearing down my 180 in March and going from a mixed reef to sps only. I'd like to minimize cords so I was thinking about making a closed loop system. Has anyone here had or are currently running one? Is it worth it, or is having multiple powerheads the way to go?

I run one on my 360g aquarium. I might not do it over again I don’t know. I would say that one input and 2 returns are probably the max that I would do again right now I have 3 with dual outputs on each one and even with a 3k gph pump it doesn’t seem to move a whole lot of water. Make sure you leak test before you stock it. I ended up having to drain the tank after 3 months cause a bulk head started leaking when I changed out vectras

That’s the one thing that would deter me from closed loop. Potential leaks.

Definitely something I hadn't considered. I have a reeflo tiger shark that I was thinking about using for it. It can definitely produce a ton of flow, but leaks would be a huge pain
