How long should you wait before adding an Anemone to a new tank? One LFS told me to wait until the tank was a year old. Another LFS told me that as long as my readings are stable and good then could add one.

The wait till a year is mainly because most anemones are delicate and new hobbyist arent usually experienced enough for them for a while.

What kind of anemone?

What kind of clown?

What kind of lighting do you have?

We have not decided on the type of clown or anemone yet. We did want to try and find one that had already paired up when we are ready. We have CF 4X64 lighting.

Best choice would be a bubble tip anemone..they are hardy and do fairly well under the lighting you currently have..

I have also read that an anemone will kill SPS if it moves over them. Is this ture?

An anemone has the potential to kill any coral it comes into contact with.

I dont like bubble tips for this reason. They tend to move around a lot. I have an LTA thats staid in the same spot for a long time. I was able to arrange around it.
