I have a mated pair of clowns, female is snowflake and male is misbar. I noticed today that they were digging a hole/burrow in the sand where they always hangout, they will turn sideways and go to the sandbed, and do a wiggling motion to move the sand. The male more so than the female. they have been in the tank for about a year, but I had just cleaned and rearranged live rock. are they about to lay eggs, or is this a territorial behavior? any help would be appreciated

Do you live rotifers? If you don't have food ready for the fry it won't matter much what you do.

How big are they? They could do that for a long time before they become sexually mature enough.

the female is really big, about 3.5" and the male is a lot smaller

Then get ready lol... you'll need a separate tank for them or they will be all eatin by morning. If you need rots let me know, I'm starting mass production of em..
