Hello Marshians! As title said, I need some help. I dont know if it's normal or not but my clowns have white stringy poop. Never seen it before with my clowns. My pair has been in the QT for 5 weeks. They've been through at least 6-7 tank transfers and 3 rounds of Prazipro. They eat like pigs (pellets, pe mysis shrimp, LRS) and hardly stay still. Does the white stringy poop indicate health problem with my clowns? Thanks in advance!

P/S: I apologize but I couldn't upload an image for some reasons.

Thanks Jared. Yes I treated with PraziPro for 24 hours before a tank transfer. Do you think another dose would help?

I would try to soak the food in the med since apparently the prazipro wasn't effective enough. This will specifically target the problem location.

Also use a binder like Seachem Focus to keep the med from leeching.

You can try Metroplex or API General Cure. I'd do the General Cure since it contains both Metro and Prazi.

There's so many different species of internal parasites. Like you, I recently had a couple clowns that didn't seem to respond to Prazi, so I switched over to API's General Cure with Seachem's Focus as a binder and the white stringy poop was gone in a week.

If you don't wanna do the binder, you can run the Metronidazole by itself. If you do decide to do the binder...just add a scoop to about (0.5 ML) of tank water and the med + food. Then just mix it up really good.

Good luck. :)
