DISCLAIMER: some pieces of coral may have some hair algae attached to them. When I buy coral from overseas all pieces come with hair algae and I dip with hydrogen peroxide and let my clean up crew get the spotless. There is NO bryopsis, just plain hair algae. I sold all fish and clean up crew from system last week so some frags may have some hair algae. This can be treated with hydrogen peroxide or your cleanup crew or you can just make sure you choose frags with no hair algae or request that I do. I had one member complain after he had got home and bought quite a bit of coral for very cheap that he was upset by some hair algae on a massive rock covered in favia and monti. He demanded I drive over an hour to him and give him a full refund or give him 50% refund and he would keep the corals. Even though he had every opportunity to look at corals before he bought them and after they were bagged, I gave a partial refund. This update is just to warn people so I do not have any other repeats. Thank you.
I’ve had many frags purchased over the years that came with algae, bought overseas, from locals, and at reputable stores. I never saw algae as an issue because I could clean it off and my clean up crew would take care of it and proper tank care would always keep it out of my display. I never even considered algae may be an issue for some. Bubble, bryopsis, etc I understand but hair and other common types that clean up crew will eat and can easily be removed I never considered an issue. For this I apologize, as some people consider frags with hair algae as trash and infected and I never knew this until today. Thanks to everyone who has purchased these frags so far for a very low price and been happy. One main reason for liquidating the frag system is I don’t have time for maintenance any longer because of work and school and because it costs too much in utilities to run the system if I don’t have time to maintain, frag, and sell corals on the side. I will do my best to make sure all frags that may have hair algae are separated from any that are perfectly clean for anyone else coming. Thanks.

So in the spirit of being 100% honest I will post pics of all messages and pictures to do with the buyer who has a problem with my corals. I have had several people contact me saying they were contacted so I will lay it all out and let everyone decide. He has stated that I never had the garage door open and never had anything but blue lights on. This is completely false. He came in through the open garage door and I left the white lights on a solid two minutes before I switched to blue lights for the color “pop”. He has also stated there are 2 inches of hair algae on the corals. There are pictures he personally sent to me and you can judge for yourself if it is indeed 2 inches. And if he would like to deny that I had white lights on, you are welcome to contact me and ask for video because I have 8 cameras in my garage and they will show that he is lying. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions whatsoever. The “buyer” is a guest user here and I am a paid member. He also joined at the very end of last year. I will let everyone be the judge if this situation so I can put this slander to an end. Thank you for reading and looking. The only thing that will be blacked out/ excluded is the name of a fish store he mentioned because I refuse to drag others into this as he is so determined to do. There is hair algae on the frags- I admit that. I never tried to hide it, maybe I should have made a huge deal out of it but I really never knew anyone considered hair algae such a bad pest. Now I know. And yes, I have other pests in my system (aiptasia and bubble algae). All frags that were found to have any pests on them were given away to a friend because I didn’t want to pass those on to anyone else. I also give each frag a look before I bag it to make sure there is nothing I missed. I know I’m not perfect, that’s why I’m liquidating because with work and school I don’t have the time for the maintenance this frag system needs. I’ve never claimed to be perfect or tried to hide anything. I’m an open book. Feel free to contact me for any more info or videos. Thanks.

Last of the photos for everyone to see.

Last thing- he bought 4 frags of zoas (good sized frags, not just a couple polyps), one frag that had a large mix of different zoas attached, two Superman mushrooms, and a large rock with a piece of Christmas favia about the size of a half dollar and a piece of orange monti about the size of a dollar bill of not larger. He got all this for $100. I cut him a very good deal because he was very nice and seemed to have little knowledge and wanted to try something new (he said he only had zoas and palys) but didn’t want to spend a ton in case he killed it. So now that I have a 50% refund he has gotten all that for $50. That doesn’t even come close to covering my cost for the coral, plugs, time, and much less other expenses related to keeping the system going. I hope I have shared everything I can and I’d be happy to share anything else anyone needs. Thank you all.

These texts hauntingly remind me of a former member who has been banned multiple times (Keeps spoofing IP and coming back) who pulls this kind of thing.
And you would be 100% correct in your assumption and the appropriate measures have been taken.

This guy always pulls this crap. He will show up, buy it, say nothing and then makes demands later. @Wyattsandhop I'm sorry you are have having to deal with this jerk.

I'ma gonna copy @SCUBAFreaky except for the date...

Congrats on your Graduation(s).

I've never had the privilege of meeting you, but how this guy has ended up treating you and cheat you out of some money has really sat wrong with me. He obviously has no clue of the Aggie Code of Honor. I'm including it for others to see...

Aggie Code of Honor
For many years Aggies have followed a Code of Honor, which is stated in this very simple verse:

An Aggie does not lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those who do.

The Aggie Code of Honor is an effort to unify the aims of all Texas A&M men and women toward a high code of ethics and personal dignity. For most, living under this code will be no problem, as it asks nothing of a person that is beyond reason. It only calls for honesty and integrity, characteristics that Aggies have always exemplified.

The Aggie Code of Honor functions as a symbol to all Aggies, promoting understanding and loyalty to truth and confidence in each other.

Enough said as far as I'm concerned.

As many others will agree, GHA is not really a problem at the end of the day. It's definitely treatable. And heck, it's an indication that your corals and livestock are well fed. Some of the liveliest systems I've had...included GHA. Hahaha.

If you haven't already might I encourage you to file a complaint about this user with the BoD.

Congrats on your Graduation(s).

Somebody did and it has been taken care of. Of course he will create account #13 or something like that... he is persistent. I will give him that.

Thanks for all the support everyone. I feel much better about this now that I know people are not actually taking this seriously. I know my corals aren’t perfect but I also never claimed they were. This whole situation has been extremely stressful. I felt like I kept my cool pretty well over text but I think his goal was to upset me enough to where I wouldn’t be comfortable sharing our messages.

Gig ‘Em Class of ‘21 (hopefully again in ‘23 or ‘24 depending on my research lol) WHOOP. So glad to have some aggies here to show support.
