I thought I was happy to finally have coralline growth in my tank. However it being a bowfront the mag float won’t touch it. Is there anything anyone has used on curved surfaces to scrape coralline? I’m thinking about a plastic putty knife but open to suggestions.

I loved the tank before I got it started. The I realized it’s not well suited for rockscaping. Now I can’t wait to get my 180 up and running so I can move on from this one.

I thought I wanted a 75/G. I told myself 10 years ago that I would never setup a tank with only 18” depth, but I wanted to save money.

Never again. Next and final tank will be 120/G. If I miraculously became very finically stable in the future I’d do another 150 or 180. Doubt that would happen though. :)

Yes exactly the opposite.

That's so weird. When BRS did their study they had increased coralline growth like I did. I guess it just goes to show that all tanks are different. My frag rack has really exploded with coralline since I started dosing it.

I suspect the other algae's were robbing the coralline's nutrients which is why it took off when the vibrant killed off the other algae's.

I just really don't know. Coralline algae is one of those things that nobody has really figured out. When that answer comes I would love to see it.

Example:

No real powerheads, HOB filter, tap water, low level lighting, Newbie, etc. LOL

Well when I don’t use it, I have to constantly scrap off coralline from my glass, when I use it regularly I don’t.

Honestly I think it has something to do with the city water of each state or city. We know magnesium will help grow coralline along with stable parameters. My tank has been super stable but it will only grow on my rocks, power-heads, and in the overflow teeth. Recently my frag rack exploded. I’ve never had it grow on the back glass. Ever. I used to think it was from running too clean, but this tank has seen very heavy nutrients and Nutrition with higher Mag and Cal, but still no growth on the back glass. It’s one of those things that will forever haunt me.
