well I cleaned my screen pulled a whole plate of aglae on it. But the thing is since I cleaned it the aglae started coming back a little bit on the glass. So it does work. But I'm tired of my tank being dirty so I'm going to remove the algae and see if it returns.

i assume your tank is sps? what's your take on the algae masking the presence of phosphate by using it all up before it can be registered by test kits? A few days ago i saw some green and brown spot on my mat must be the algae settling in

Did you remove the algae? Are you planning on keeping the screen going?

Based on your experience is this something you might consider for long term control instead of a cleanup effort? Just cruious sounds like you got pretty good results.

I'm leaving it up for now. I'm pleased with the results.
I don't think this is an alternative to general maintenance. I'm still keeping my skimmer. and fuge and stuff. But it did help with the levels. I just scrubbed most of my rock in the tank. So we'll see how that goes...
