And when she was 4 days old she had her first real photo shoot. I snapped this with my phone while her photographer was doing her thing.

Absolutely adorable! You guys did good! Reminds me of my daughter, she also had a full head of dark brown hair when she was born.

The time is almost here.
We are selling our house and unfortunately this shape tank will not fit well anywhere in the new house.
So sometime after the first of the year, this tank will be up for sale. Tank, stand and sump for sure. Not sure what else. Current plan is to try and keep all livestock including rock and sand.
Just wanted to give a heads up, in case anyone is looking for sweet tank with a one-of-a-kind overflow and Vortech dry-dock setup.
I will eventually post in the for sale section but if anyone is interested and can work with my time frame of what would most likely be a February tear-down, feel free to PM me.

Just got done reading the entire thread. One of the sickest tank builds I've seen- I really think it's important that the aquarium matches the decor of the house. I don't like when reefers get carried away with the tank and it doesn't complement the room. The house is awesome. I guess your new house is even better?

It's sad to see the tank go. Can't wait to see your next tank though. Are you going to continue reefing?

I just saw the video- your herbie overflow- does the lower drain pipe running at a full siphon perfectly match the flow of the return pump? The herbie overflows I've seen have a lower drain pipe with a flow rate just a little lower than the return pump, and there is a trickle flow on the upper drain, which you referred to as the emergency stand pipe.

Yes, I'm already planning the next tank. :)

The full siphon drain has a gate valve above the sump. So that's what you use to adjust the flow to match the return pump. The return is pushing water back up through the returns slower than the tank can drain, so the gate valve is used to close the drain a bit until it evens out. Every so often this valve needs a slight adjustment one way or the other but no big deal. The herbie lets you know. You'll hear a gurgle if the water starts to drop below the siphon drain, and you'll hear trickling water if it starts to flow down the emergency drain. Great system.
