i know a lot of people like bubble magus because they are less expensive and perform well...but dude, you're talking about a deltec. they are rock solid. i would pick deltec.

I have no personal experience with either, but $750 is a tough pill to swallow. IF money is no option I say go for it though.

I am not sure what pump is on the deltek skimmer, but if it is an AquaBee, you will never get a replacement pump. If you do you will pay over $400 just for the pump. Then you have the impeler to purchase and then the shaft. I know since a customer has a deltec reactor and I have been in contact with Xenia NorthAmerica trying to get him a aquabee 3000.

My opinion, if a replacment part is going to take longer than a couple of days, don't go with it. I have been waiting on the aquabee pump and parts for 6 months now.

Have you seen:

a replacement pump on the ap600 is 314.08  !!! wow... that alone..is... a cost... of a new decent skimmer.... i dont mind buying one. but fixing it is outrageous. i guess i will have to just wait in line for a bubble magus

Thanks 3CC for pointing that out. I will check out that skimmer you suggested.

i did some research-

the bm150, bm160, bm160l, bm260 all use the same pump that the deltec ap600 skimmer uses - aquabee 2000/l pump. both with a pinwheel mods. the bubble magus pinwheels (700lpm) draw more air than the deltec pinwheel(350lpm).

the warner marine uses the same pump as the bm200p , sicce-p sk2500 . warner marine pinwheel pulls in 960 lpm on 22 watts. the bm200 pinwheel/meshwheel pulls in 900 lpm.

and with all of the reviews ive read, i think the bubble magus will be a better buy at the fraction of the cost. i really wanted the deltec but 3CC opened my eyes. and after some research i think i will just have to wait for a BM.

Thanks Marsh

Great price

How about an aquabee 3000? Looks to me like that website may be selling off what they have in stock and they may not be replacing it. Very low selection when it comes to other models of aquabee pumps.

They don't use the 3000 in any of the skimmers offered I believe, so it in support of the current lineup.

I have heard of some the atman pumps have restart issues, which can be traced back to reassembly errors.

Overall, I have a lot of faith in the sicce pumps. Like I stated previously, I have been running continuously for over a year 24/7.

I agree, we moded a big PM skimmer with 2 x Sicce 2500 and that skimmer now runs like a beast. Problem is I don't have anywhere to use it. Guess I will have to list it for sale.
