I had a gap under the tank that I could not get rid of. Every thing was perfectly level so I decided to put down a layer of plywood and stained it. Then I reinstalled the tank and I still had a gap under it except for the coroners. I did some research and found that some people were using the ½ inch foam pad that you buy at home depot. So I bought a sheet of it for about 8 bucks. Brought it home and installed it then reinstalled the tank and filled it with water and 240 lbs of sand. To my surprise the foam pad did not even shrink down hardly at all it is still about ½ inch .It only shrunk a little on the coroners. I saw a couple of huge tanks on reef central that used it and did not have a problem. So I hope it goes ok.

We have a lot of stained wood in our house so I was planning on putting wood frame around it. I still have to tape and float the sheet- rock then texture it. I have some more major components coming in sat. I will try to post some more pics.

You cut the center brace out? Don't you think you might need that?

I hope not. The tank is supported in-between the 2-by-4’s so I think it will be ok.

The board in the pic is closer to the center than the edge of the tank it is one of 4 legs. The two outside legs are connected to the wall so they will not spread apart. It is hard to see in that pic.

How full are you going to keep the sump? If you keep it that full, will there be enough room in the sump to hold the water that drains from the plumbing etc during a power outage?

Ya there is enough room for over flow . You can't see the end of the tank where the pumps are in that pic. But I already pulled the plug to see where the water would stop.I still have a lot of room left.

Thanks it is very impressive to see in person. The pic on the Deltec site doesn’t do it justice. It is hard to judge its size. It’s huge. :D :D
