Can anyone help with Dragon goby question? I have looked on the internet and have found two different fish identified as Dragon gobies. One is a eel looking fish that according to the internet comes from brackish water but can be adapted to freash or saltwater. The other fish is also known as a brownbarred goby and is a saltwater only. Which is the goby that is used for sifting the substrate?

Actually, they both do. I think what you're looking for is Amblygobias sp., or the 'bullet gobies'. They're the most efficient of the sand sifters. But that's not necessarily a good thing. Bullet gobies can strip a sand bed of all life in a very short time. If you can't get them converted over to prepared foods, which is very difficult in an active reef tank, they'll starve to death. Do alot more research before you pick up a sand sifter, they may require more care than you're willing to spend on them.
