I went from a hofer gurgle buster to a durso stand pipe. Its def quiter than the gurgle buster but they both are very restricitve but thats why they work though.

Put Dursos in both my 125 and 60 gallon drilled tanks. If you build them following the instructions, they work like a charm. The only noise from my overflows now is a little trickle noise from the water falling from tank water level to overflow water level :)

Thanks everyone! You have answered my qusetions for the 75 as well as the nano. I'm getting the durso for the 75gal. and I will use the stockman for the nano since I have to be more concerned about space

HOB overflows work but they are restrictive and sooner or later you will have a disater. I only say this because I have had lots of experience with them. Some HOB's will allow you you the room to put dursos in but they can be restrictive based on the setup.

I have one 1" durso on my 265g and its is great and quiet. 1" will flow more than is stated by most website bdepending on how its set up.

feel free to PM me and We can disuss in more detail. I will tell you the problems I have overcome and how and the things to look out for.
