Does anyone know anything about these? I hear they are pretty powerful and that you might be able to get away with 1-2 of these in a 28 nano. I really don't want to have to replace this CF light in my hood...thoughts!!

I have a 24g Cardiff and I use Ecoxotics' less powerful Stunner Strips. I have four of them on there as the only light source and I think they're great. You get shimmer, reduced heat and I've never had better coral growth.

In comparison, I modded a 29g Biocube so it had 3 CF and I had heat and algae problems and no where near the success I have with the stunner strips from a coral growth perspective.

The main difference between the stunner strips and the panorama or panorama pro is the wattage (although you can literally dunk the pros underwater). The stunners are 6 watts and the pros are 19 watts. One of the big benefits of the higher wattage is that the light penetrates deeper into your tank but that's really not necessary for a tank your size. Typically the higher wattage is necessary for tanks deeper than 20 inches. That said, I would think that the higher wattage would increase the shimmer effect.

As a side note, they recently came out with RGB Panorama Pro LED that actually changes colors (effectively 9 different colors in the same light). If you're into the color options, its pretty cool.

Bottom line, a good quality LED is far better than CFs, your personal preference and budget will probably dictate the rest. Good luck.
