Elegance Coral eating 3-4' Trigger

I am missing a 3-4" trigger fish. I have looked all over the tank and out side the tank and can't find this guy. The only thing I see out of place is my Elegance is extremely swollen today. Could the Elegance Coral eaten the Trigger?

I have never heard of that. But if you were to loose a fish I would think a trigger would deserve it the most. I think they are a mean and nasty fish. Ya never know for sure, but I have had elegance for a few years now and really doubt it. Especually if the trigger was very healthy.

Sometimes the coral will kind of burp up stuff it was not able to digest This is soo strange and unheard of from my experience with elegance corals.

Well the mystery is solved. After checking between all the rocks with no luck I pulled off the black cover on the back of the tank and found the Picasso trigger swimming in the overflow compartment. He must of jumped over the fins of the overflow to chase some food. This is not going to be fun fishing him out of the overflow. Then time to work on a screen cover.

Glad you found the fish. Cat can tell you how to make an acrylic overflow cover if you'd prefer that over screen.
