carlos, can you post some pics of your setup? if we can see how you are running your system, maybe we can point out some areas that could be causing you problems and / or might cause problems in the future.

Duhhhh, I guess I was thinking everyone knew my tank as well as I did.. heheh.. I have a Solana, It has the equipment on the back, it also has a skimmer, so overflow, skimmer, live rock, and back to the tank.. I will get some pics tonight..

what size tank?
what kind of powerheads?
what kind of return pump?
what kind of skimmer?

a film on the water would suggest not enough surface agitation. angle your pumps upwards or upgrade your powerheads. the surface of your tank should be rippling.

34 g, the pump is original, the power head is a bit bigger than I need, the skimmer is an original also, sorry if this isn't much help. one of my return lines is pointed up, and is agitating the surface, and in that area, the film is blown away....

I can see it doesn't work as well when the water level in the back changes, so I keep that level constant, and my skimmer, to my understanding seems to be working ok...
