hey guys, i havent been around in a while since i broke down my last tank. I'm thinking about getting a nano up and running with stuff i have laying around...i was looking at the Finnex Ray II fixture for a 5.5 gal tank (16" long.)

i was wondering if anybody had any first hand experience with them. I searched all over and couldnt find much on them as far as reviews go. I think the product is still pretty knew and that might be why.

any insight or info would be appreciated.

Man, how many kyle's are there on marsh???? ;-) i'd be a bit suspicious of that fixture, seems like finnex took the same route as marineland when constructing them, the cheapest components, regardless of performance. 192 Diodes, but only 20 watts of power? That's less than the 0.3w leds I have on my fuge light and from experience with that, I can say at least they don't penetrate the water deeper than 4-5 inches, they're crap, really crap. For the hundred bucks you'd pay with taxes and shipping etc you could get an Evil bulb or pick up a couple of par38's from the used sections of various sites.
All that having been said, like you suggested it may be a new fixture and it is very hard to find reviews, maybe they have come up with a combination that is actually quite sweet, but logic would be steering me toward more proven methods of lighting.
Good morning!
