Due to the latest case of COVID-19 from Montgomery Co. showing possible community spread they are shutting down the rodeo 11 days early.

Be safe everyone.

Yea I wont be coming that way until things settle down. I have everything I need on my 25 acres. Kindof a prepper mentality anyway.

A few of my friends that go to uh said they are moving to online classes and canceled In person classes. I go to hcc and they are planning for online classes, but no word yet if they are. Half my teachers are convinced it will happen while the others are like it’s just rumor and won’t happen most likely. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I guess I’ll see what happens.

Yeah I can't believe the stupidity. Are they going to cancel March Madness? The rest of the NBA season...NASCAR season? Baseball just about to start, going to cancel their MLB season before it really starts? The same idiots who make these decisions are probably the same people that are buying out toilet paper instead of food and are probably going out to eat daily.

well, that's what happens when facts and science collide with ideology. it doesn't matter what we believe (or don't). our actions do matter though. So when pandemic preparedness and trust in the validity of basic science was abandoned what we are left with is what we have now. i am no genius but experience would dictate that we, as the general public, do not know the whole story.. Google and Amazon don't send 1000's of workers home unless there is something serious going on. too bad we didn't go along with the rest of the world and accepted the WHO standard of testing that is good enough for Germany and every other country in the world. So instead of drive through testing centers, we have no idea how many and who is infected becasue we cant even test.

well we all know some person is walking around and doesn't want to pay 1000 dollars for a test since they dont have insurance infecting people

that's another thing that there is no clear quick answer to without a serious evaluation. these tests need to be available and free. you may be alright but your waiter or bartender or uber driver or whatever cant afford healthcare and wont (and shouldn't have to) pay for a test. again... its not really that important since if we cant agree a way to manage these types of events, they will just happen with more voracity and damage until the ones left all agree on a way. a proverbial "thinning of the herd" until everyone agrees to run in the same direction to stay alive.

So the stupid panic lemming mentality has begun... Went to Kroger to get a few things for an open house this weekend and to pick up a prescription. No TP to be found anywhere (that's a reason to panic in my book!) and apparently a pallet of Dasani had come in and folks were buying 6 - 24 packs at a time. I stopped one (yeah I'm older and sometimes cranky) and said you realize this isn't a hurricane right?

you have an osmosis system that can be used for drinking water no? granted, its not ozarka but you wont run out of drinking water anytime soon.
You would have to un hook the di part. All bottled water is filtered with RO. If I’m not mistaken we shouldn’t drink rodi because it strips the water of all the minerals that we need.
