How do you control run off and evaporation? I have looked into ponds briefly but I never really found answers to these problems.

LOL No that really doesnt work... the saltwater pool systems arent really meant to handle that... plus you figure, the pool was damaged in the hurricane and no one can use it... if we fix it to turn it into a pond, my husband would be PISSED lol.

Right now we are working on debt and savings... so much so that allowances have been cut to 50$ a check... if I want another octopus... and be able to feed it I will REALLY have to save for it now.

the way i had it setup is pretty simple but works. I am setting up a same setup in the shop on 45/gulf bank so u can see how its done when we open. As for as water evap my whole entire house is run on rodi water, i drew a line on the pool liner to let me know when to add water if it evap. Once water go below the line i run a hose to fill it bak to the line. As for as heat my house is 3 stories and the next house is 3 stories so it blocks out the sun and stays fairly cool in my garage. I run a 100 gal tank which sits higher then the pond using a pump to shoot water into the tank and the tank draining back down to the pond. I will try to get pics of the entire setup so u can see exactly how i set it up which is fairly easy and works just like a fresh water pond and water stays crystal clear
