$23 is a good price. I have one (I bought one before finding about that article), and I paid $30 at Fish World (Bellaire & Synott). I've had it for 3 months now and am still waiting for it to die. It still looks very good. My tank is all softies with only 2 T5's for lighting.

Good Luck.

Flowerpots have a miserable record in captivity. I would say it is the number one coral that is always imported with the least success.
Few people have been able to keep them alive. Flowerpots are Goniopora if you set on getting a flowerpot-esque coral go with the Alvelapora. If you can keep a goniopora past 6 months you have done something most people can not do. Clowns in your tank is the kiss of death for flowerpots they seem to want to host in flowerpots even if they are currently hosting in an anenome.
I wouldn't waste my money on it but its up to you.

I have had a goniopora for about 6 months now. It did real well early on and was not bothered by my false percula clowns. About 2 months ago it started to decline. Upon inspection on evening after it had deflated, I found some type of worm in it. I successfully removed and destroyed the worm. It was a good four inches long. The coral quit declining immediately and is now doing quite well again. I also bought mine before reading all of the reports of difficulty in maintaining this species. Personally, I am glad I bought one. It is an awesome specimen.
