still hammering out lighting for this setup. might do a floating canopy with two 250 se lumen brights with a pair of t5's or might do an all t5ho setup. any suggestions?

Tank is shallow...go with T5s. You can save on electricity, less heat, and no chiller...IMO.

Just an FYI: make sure you have a running fan 24/7 in that bedroom. High humidity could actually do some damage to the walls over time.

yeah, the door stops have actually rusted a little bit :-o .

with the halides, i'll have them off the tank quite a ways (if i go this route). with the lumen brights, the tank actually won't get that hot. i used lumen brights over my 180 and it ran the same temp as with t5's. but, t5's would be less electricity.

well, the price difference between the sunblaze and my planned mh/t5ho combo was about $600. so, yeah, it became a quick and easy decision.

ok, so i'm ordering the sunlight supply sunblaze and 8 bulbs from premium aquatics (if anyone wants to do a group buy or something, i'm game...just let me know. they package t5ho bulbs in boxes of 6, and i need 8 and i don't want to pay a bunch of shipping for 2 bulbs).

i also started building the frag racks. the racks are made of black eggcrate (ordered from bulk reef supply) and the legs are made of 1/2" acrylic rods (ordered from us plastics).

i cut the legs to a length of about 9" (for this rack, other racks will be shorter). then i took a dremmel tool and cut a + into the top of the rod. this allows the eggcrate to slip down into the grooves on the acrylic rod. i then added a dot of silicone to the connection just to keep them in place. turned out pretty good to me.

Looks good B. You should be ready for frags soon! I got em. Thanks again for the tub, it was a lifesaver.

Looks great Brandon. Any reason to go w/ black egg-crate over white? Is it a lighting thing?

I have decided I'm up for making the center section of your old sump into my frag tank. I have a spare 250w ballast so it shouldn't be too hard to set up.

I'm looking for a good place to get "frag plugs" what do people use?

Cheers
James

Looks good Brandon! The racks look good. That tank pic makes me think of an offshore oil rig.
