fragging gorgonian (1 Viewer)

I got this gorgonian last weekend. I couldn't pass it up. I was way too nice, but it's too large for my tank. Has anyone had success fragging these? My only other choice is to rearrange my tank to make it a new spot.

All you have to do is start clipping limbs off till you like what's left. Also. please down-size your pics, don't need to crash the site.

The last time I used this site to host my pictures, it had a thumbnail to click on to see them. I'm sorry you didn't appreciate the size of my picture. If I had anything to do w/it, it wouldn't have been that big.
By the way- have you had any success in fragging/propagating these?

Bet I know where you got it.......they had two, one gargantuan sized one, and one smaller.......I bought the smaller one, because I knew I'd have the same problem of fitting the larger one into my tank

Yes, I have. They do real well. Just glue each piece on a rock and they do great. I'd take about a 4-5" piece or larger. I'll be at the moonlight seminar the 28th if you still have some by then. I live in Lampasas, so Houston trips are usually once a month. Let me know. No prob about the pic, it just overwelms the page. Nice gorg, though.

Karen, glad the purple you got from me is doing well. My wife was shocked that I fragged it. See ya the 28th.

when you cut it scrape the flesh off on the bottom where your going to glue it down and cover the whole area you scraped off (1/4" or so) with super glue while ur glueing it down. If you glue over the flesh it will rott

If you are goign to frag it and sell/trade the frags off, I am also interested in a piece.

I have two gorgonians and I have successfully fragged both of them. Both of mine are doing great and from what I know the frags are also doing great. If you want, I would be happy to come over and help you frag for the small price of one frag for myself

KarenB and anan- you guessed right, the Aquatic Center. Wish I could've gotten the smaller one, but someone beat me to it.


bigbird and niko5-thanks for your advice, not sure when I'll frag it. I want to give it at least a month. But as soon as frag it, I won't hesitate to let you guys know I have frags.
