I'm using the Hamilton e-ballast on the 275 watt setting to run mine and it's just fine. From what I understand, I think it has to do with the European voltage as to why the m80 is the correct ballast "technically"....

Is there any difference in output from a Galaxy or icecap?

Not sure would have to look at the specs. some e-ballasts can overdrive a bulb which in theory should reduce the blue. If you haven't already purchased ballasts for Radium look at the Hamilton M80. (PM d2mini he used them with Radium on his old tank).

Since the Galaxy is a Select-a-Watt, would I use the 250 or the HQI setting for the radium?
Or is there a better bulb for the icecap ballast? That's what I have installed at the moment.
