I don't own any clowns or anemone's yet but has anyone tried this with their clowns before? I've heard of people not being able to get the anemones to host clowns, it seems like this idea would help.

Once I buy my clowns and an anemone I'll be trying this.

Wondering if this would work with regular PVC.

It will work with pvc. The only difference would be that you can see them going down.

I've had multiple anemone's and clowns. The problem I see that some people have is that the clowns don't want to be hosted because they get dumped into a tank with aggressive fish that have established their territory, and they clowns tend to get pushed into a corner where they continue to hang out because they're scared and feel safe there. Not to mention its usually only two clowns with only one anemone.

If you dump the clowns in at night, and have more than just two it will go a lot better. Having more than one anemone helps a lot too. Mine always go straight to the anemone and when I have a lot of Nems they are like hummingbirds going to multiple feeders.

I'll post video soon.

I'd like to see that, thanks!

Never tried that technic. My female found the anemone in about 4 months. Took the male over 2 years.

My clowns have in the tank ignoring the anemones for a couple months now and in the bigger tank they dont even seem to see it. Has anyone tried to make a mesh cage around the anemone and put the clowns in there? Would that "teach" the clowns or would that expose them to potential danger from the anemone?

Wowww, well that is pretty cool, but not sure that's gonna be my first choice, that's a whole lot of clowns! I have seen another video where they tell you to move the em to where the clowns hide at night, or alternatively, put them in a bucket together for a few mins (I dont like this though).

Interesting! I was toying around with powerheads one day and drastically changed the flow in my tank. For whatever reason the clowns instantly found their anemone which had been there for 3 months...
