I got a brain last night. This morning this stringy stuff is hagin out. Is it just a protective slime?

could be mesenterial filaments. is there anything within 6" of it or anything (including fish) in your tank that is generally known to fight w/ other corals?

it is either like cparka said or the coral is purging algae out of its tissue.What color is the "stringy stuff".If it white then it is mesenterials and if it is brown then it is algae.

it looked white the only thing with in 6 inches is a kenya tree. my glaxae is about 5 inches away but it isnt trying to sting anything.

Some of our lps has created like white stringy stuff when it is pissed. Just watch it and see if it stops soon. We haven't had one do it for more than one day ususally they produce it just once and it hangs around til it disolves or we scoup it out.
