I was fiddling with my tank and I felt a shock. At first I thought it was a stray current, but now I'm thinking it was salt reacting to my skin. Regardless, I bought this and installed it yesterday. Does anyone else have one, or am I being overly cautious?

I use a grounding probe. I was told WAY back when that tangs are sensitive to stray voltage so I got one and used it ever since. I never did look that up. Nonetheless, before I installed the probe I would feel the occasional shock so that's why I've kept it.

They are a good thing provided they are plugged into a gfci circuit

My house has GFI outlets throughout, but the outlet that I plugged it in doesn't have the GFI push tab. I assume they are tied to the same line. Am I okay?
