Well since we got so many responses in the other thread. I decided that maybe we should have a thread just for firearm owners and shooters. Post intreseting articles or any information dealing with the use, maintenance, owning, or training. We suggest that we also get together for a range day and share tips.

also post pictures of targets and firearms if you want. I'll start off.

My Shotgun: Mossberg 500 Persuader with blackhawk "reduced recoil" stock.

Ammo boxes that I repainted with metallic black rustoleum. First time doing this and i think it came out decently.

Yeah mines a little old - 18. He needs to learn... I grew up in west tx with two ranches to hunt on. He has grown up here in Houston. Needs to learn what shooting a real gun is like vs. gears of war. Lol. I used to take him when he was little but after moving out here not so much.

How do you like the XD40, I'm thinking about getting one. I would appreciate any input you may have for me.

I like it a lot. It shoots great, carries easy and has a 12 round mag. I only have to carry 1 extra mag. If you want to shoot one before you buy it, send me a message and I can meet you at a range somewhere on a week end.

Believe it or not, I have not fired it yet. Just got it. you can de-************ it another way---- the old fashioned way (and the way I still do it). Treat it just like a 1911 and ease the hammer home. I prefer this method even with a decocker on any hand gun. I know the De-Cocker is a great safety device, but I always have a pucker factor going when I pull a trigger to safe a weapon........

Thats a bizarre de-cocker. I would imagine the gun was designed primarily to carry cocked and locked like a 1911. I have a walther PPKS 380 and it de-cocks by engaging the safety like my sigs which I don't mind since it's DA/SA. I too would be wary of guns that you have to pull the trigger to decock. Similarly to pulling a trigger to dis-assemble like the aforementioned Glock :) Walther has a history of making fantastic arms so I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
