H. Hippopus (Clam) (2 Viewers)

Any one know about H. Hippopus? I read a little on the Clams Direct forum and they seem like one of the easiest clams and they are cheap.
Seen any locally?

I remember city pets having a crapload of clams a while back...around when everyone in town had a lot of clams for sale...i think most were maxima and derasa though...but don't get me lying here.

Don't recall ever seeing one for sale at an LFS.

I saw em maybe.......wanna say 2-3 months ago. 2" were like 25 and respectively up from there.

Tom, hippopus clams are about the easiest in terms of care, lighting, feeding etc of the clams. I've never had one but have known several that have. Barry sometimes gets them in and the "only" LFS I have ever seen a hippopus clam in was Aquatic Designs. At the time I asked Keith what it was as it looked like a rock to me, and yes, this was before my time on the clamsdirect forums, and he said it was a hippopus.

I think they are a cool looking clam if you're looking for something different.
