Has anyone ever tried halogen lighting on their aquarium?
What was the result?

I don't think it's the correct spectrum. It would probably put off plenty of light and give you the nice "ripple" effect like MH due to the point source, but I don't think it would do your corals any good.

If I recall, most of them are around 2800 to 3200 degrees Kelvin.

Yes, I've been talking to some people today.
My thoughts were the heat also.
I have had halogen lamps before and they get hot as hell literally.

I was also told getting bulbs with a different color spec. would be hard.

One person told me , he didn't think they make them with the spectrum we'd want.
