Hello fellow Reefaholics,

Can you please help me out and share if you have or had a Harequin Tuskfish in a Reef tank experiences and words of wisdom? I am very interested in procuring one from a LFS. Please let me know how long you had it and what it ate. I'm not getting one unless it is right for the tank. Just want to do my research.

I do have several Acros and LPS in my tank. I do not have any feather dusters, clams, or ornamental shrimp. My 90 gallon reef has been running for three years. I do have a Lunar Wrasse (very mild mannered unless your a snail), Melanurus Wrasse, Mystery Wrasse, Canary Blenny, 4 Clowns, Lawnmower Blenny, Long Nose Hawkfish, and a Fiji Foxface. All of my fish get along ok. The Lunar Wrasse and Foxface rule the roost. Thanks in advance.

I had one in my FOWLR, he didn't bother the snails any, but would the first one when I dropped a live clam in the tank. General school of thought is that they are not reef safe for invertebrates like shrimp and crabs, but safe for corals.

Thank you both for your post. Really good words of wisdom Jeff.

Next question is, where do I buy one? I would like a 3-5 inch one.

You can always check with our sponsors to see about ordering. If you want online, live aquaria is always a good choice with their guarantee. Get an Australian, they have more vibrant colors and are net caught. The indo ones have a little different look and many die after a few months because of the manner of collection.

Only place I have seen one is at Aquarium world off of 290. I havent seen a sponsor with one but I am sure as he said above that they could most likely order you one.
