I'm looking to get a chiller myself, but i do not know enough about them to trust my money with an off brand, my corals mean more to me. hate to come home to a overheated tank and losing corals, and/or fish.

I guess you could look at the feedback list for the seller and then find someone that has gotten one of them from him, and then send them a pm to ask how it's worked for them. Just an idea.

good call I will try that and I will let ya'll know what I find out. The overheating thing is why I want to try out the Biomatix controller, not only does it do everything and have a great online interface but the online section allows you to control the tank from anywhere. Its just a little new to spend $950 on it. I need to see it atleast get on some major retail websites and talk to a few people who have it.

I considered this chiller when I was looking for one. I went with a known brand instead. Try sending a message to someone in the feedback list from a year or two ago.

The thing about eBay and these higher-end pricier items is that everyone leaves their feedback within 30 days and you don't know the long-term story (not to say that I have had any experience with this brand).

I think the chiller will work fine. The chiller isn't what "nukes" your tank, it's the controller that fails and sticks at "on." If you run it w/ a good controller it should be fine.

Since it's an industrial/aquaculture model I don't expect it to be quiet.

Cool, I am not really worried about the noise because it will be in the garage. I know people say to put them inside because they work better, more efficient but hell for the price I could buy 2 and still get away cheaper than most 1/2 hp chillers. Also I will run it on a reefkeeper controller.

Here is the response from an ebay buyer of one of these chillers.

Hi,
The chiller is great.
The warranty service is awesome.
That is a must have in hot season over TX!

So hopefully I will get a few more responses from people but I think I am going to order one. If I do I will let ya'll know how it works because if it is good it is a steal.

I am not sure what you heard, but I have heard when they are in the garage it might be as if you did not have one. they take heat out of the system but if hot they can only take out so much. inside it is easier for the chiller to lose heat, just a thought. if you are looking for cheap, I think the pacific coast import chiller is pretty good. I look forward to hearing about this one if you get it tho.

He got a different one, it looks nice. Pacific Coast Imports are certainly not cheap though!
