Well, by now you may have seen Quoc's top down shots. If not, here's his thread: http://www.marshreef.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=20561

And here are the pictures I took on Saturday. His tank was primarily lit with 14,000K bulbs and my camera simply didn't want to get the correct white balance while I was visiting so I decided to just work with them as is. He can tell you all the details, but off the top of my head:

Closed loop
Two VorTechs
Tunze pumps
Chiller
Sump
Refugium
Prop tank
14,000K & 10,000K MH (5 total)
VHO actinics lighting

And all of the guts are in his garage.

These magnets are used to grow corals up high in the tank. Pretty neat. He uses a bunch of these around the tank's perimeter.

It is by far one of the nicest tanks I have ever seen. I love going to Quoc's house and seeing his tank

The magnet use is pretty ingenious. I might have to steal that idea :d

This is the most beautiful reef that I've seen in eight years of reefing. Congrats, Quoc!

Stability and consistency is the key to success.
Quoc has been keeping his water parameters stable for years.
Nice job Quoc!

I tried, Naka :) Agreed about the stability and consistency (or patient). It's a simple fact for success but hard to maintain especially when there are so many new 'discoveries', new methods, new reefkeeping toys and hypes :)) out there that often temped me to try out. I learned that in a hard way many times :)
Another fact is that I was lucky to be able to keep my tank running continously since startup in 2004. Many of my SPS keeping friends have to shutdown and/or restart their tanks for various reasons, like Invincible, Naka, Tommy, Jason, twinspot, mandoman, SueT,.... There were times that I was so frustated at my tank that I just wanted (or wish I were strong enough) to shut the damn tank down!
