Ok so I just traded a 96w CAD Lights T5 light very good condition for a used CO2 regulator from Dennis at FJW on Friday. I hooked it up to my CO2 tank and then my PM RFCa4 reactor. Everyting was fine since Friday and then about 30min ago Boom (not literallly) that would be bad. However the regulator started blowing all the CO2 out of the hole on the left side of the regulator. So I quickly shut the valve to the CO2 tank to stop the CO2. I subsequentially closed the other valves. What happened? Did I get a bad used regulator?

Ok so the gasket was in good condition, the CO2 is comming out of the part on the regulator where the regulator valve is and the body of the regulator. My 1st Ca reactor experience is very frustrating. Hopefully Dennis is willing to trade this crud out.

You might have blown the regulator!!
There's a system to follow to turn on or build up pressure on this.
Tell me how you connect this to your bottle, and after you connect it what did you do?
I worked a lot with CO2 on fresh water tanks and have blown many regulators.
Also what kind of brand regulator you have?
A few years back there were some recalls on regulators.

Btw I'm with Jason on this.
I never bought a used one, you dealing here with 120 PSI bottle.
You know what it can do when you have a default.......................:boom:
