Well some of you guys know how if feel about my wildlife, so I need some help!!! The city of galveston decided to fill more of our beaches in from 13st to 61st which includes all of the seawall jetties!! I am not sure how much sand they will be putting in but I am thinking about fifty feet of beach will be replaced and that will cover most of the jetties. So if you have some extra room you should drive down and get a few. They are easy to keep They eat whatever you feed them. They can be in water from 65 to almost 90. Very tolerant of parameters. Grow in almost any light and come in awesome colors.

Not sure how long it will take to get down to the jetties just yet but they have been going about a month and a half and made it about two blocks.

Thanks for listening and sorry for the tree hugger speach!!!

I will try and post better pictures later but this is only about a five foot long crack in the rocks. Just think about how many are going to get buried. This will definitely be covered in sand!!

I appreciate your awareness Chris! If I can make it down soon I wouldnt mind a few more :) still looking for a deep purple ;-)

My super light blue hides behind my rocks where I can't see it, but this one is right out front.

I've seen some beautiful colors down there. The nems are always there. If you go on a night with light north wind and check the cams for decent water visibility- you are in for a treat. The key is slack to light north wind. Super fun when it's calm, no waves, can hear everybody talk, etc.

Well I did little research and they will be adding an average of one hundred to one hundred and fifty feet!!! They are supposed to be done by may. That gives me a little while to do what I can, so I am going to try and collect what I can and maybe put up a few in the free section!! If they put that much by the jetties there will be no more of anything around them!! If you know me that this wont stop me from collecting I just have to adjust and try new spots. (which i have already found a few places for you guys that like to collect)

Thanks for listening to me rant and happy reefing

I would think that if they are going to spend that much money adding sand they will also build new jetties to keep it from washing away.

Almost 20 million to dredge the ship channel and just to put sand in between the jetties that run along the beach from 12st to 61st!!!
