one of the pump wires was torn so the tank was shocked prolly a good 30 mins or so, i took out the pump, now all my corals are "dying" most of sps are losing tissues and turning white. soft and lps are all closed.

i just did 30% water change, and about do another 30% in the morning.

should i take out the corals bc they are "dying" or just leave it in there?

my fish and shrimp are still ok .

what should i do next .

thanks in advance. :(

Oh my! I would also post this on wetwebmedia forums.http://bb.wetwebmedia.com/

they have an emergency forum that gets fast responses. I was reading a thread today about the dyeing tissue. They said to not blow it off while in the tank. (was posted in today's FAQ on main page)

I wish you the best and sorry I couldn't be of more help

I'm sorry to hear that! I wouldn't take the corals out - because the damage is done. Moving them to a "foreign" environment could just make it harder on them. I would definitely run some Carbon or Chemipure (mix of carbon and DI resin) and up your skimming and aeration. What can happen is that bacteria counts start to build up as stuff dies and that can start a cascading effect. Obviously you want to prevent this. I'd say if you have a UV sterilizer run it too.

Cheers
James

Definitely not - taking it out won't help now. Is there still tissue on the coral? If so, it is completely bleached, but it CAN come back.
