I am going to use some PVC pipe and fitings to plumb some things on my tank. Do I need to get a special type of primer and glue, or does it matter. Also if i do use regular primer and glue should I let it cure for an little longer than normal. Sorry if this sounds dumb, but I dont want to hurt anything in the tank.

You can use the regular primer / glue or use one of the more rapid setting varieties.
Don't have to wait any longer than normal and most of our plumbing is so low pressure you can use it pretty soon after gluing.

Will you be able to 'flush' the new pipe before running tank water through it ? Probably a good idea.

The stuff I bought said it had a 2 hour cure time. I started running water through the pipes 3 hours later and have never had any problems. And that was months ago. my 2 cents

Some of my plumbing has had water running through it within minutes of gluing. Heck, even if I didn't glue it I'd probably be leak free. But for fear of it working lose over time, it's all glued except for the last piece of each return line in the tank so i can make adjustments/changes.

Hi, jeremy.
Remember, that stuff was made for use on drinking water pipes for human consumption. So its not likely to harm your tank inhabitants.

Good luck,
Steve
