I purchased an elephant ear mushroom from the frag swap and am having difficulty to get it to attach to the rock. I tried one rubber band, then two, but it manages to get out.
So I cut out the bottom half of a 2 litter coke bottle and put a few holes in it to prevent any current from blowing it over, but again not luck.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Super glue. A little dab'l do ya. Take the shroom out of the tank along with the rock you will be placing him on. Dry out the surface of the rock, where you will be attaching him, with a paper towel or something along those lines. Dry off the foot of the shroom.

Place a dab or two of super glue (depending on the size of the shroom) on the foot of the shroom and then attach him to the rock. The glue will hold him down long enough for him to attach (a few days), but it will eventually wear away and be gone without damaging the rock or the shroom.

It may sound drastic, but it works.

I have cut up a lot of mushrooms and superglue has never worked for me. The mushrooms just slime it off in a matter of minutes or hours, and poof ~ there go the mushrooms, lost under the rockwork.

The best method I've used is to use the cut off portion of a 2-liter Coke bottle, leaving it about 5" tall. In the bottle, I put coarse crushed coral. The mushrooms are protected from the current in the bottle and naturally attach to the gravel. Once they've attached, it's easy to superglue the gravel to wherever you want the mushroom.

Other people have success using tulle (wedding veil material) to loosely wrap the rock on which you've placed your mushrooms.
