Oh man today i was moving stuff around my tank . I almost pooped in my pants i saw the freaky thing come out on my live rock . It had to been foot long coming out of my rock . It was like long black centipede about about little thicker than pen. its face was ugly . i try to grab it with some tongs to pull it out but it went back inside the rock . WTF was it , please i want to get rid of it . it's freakin ugly , i was like WTF!! . now i don't want to put my hand back in the tank .
Can some one give me some info on this thing?

I've had bristleworms about that length but they are harmless.

See if any of these look familiar

I think most worms that size (that I've heard of) are not detrimental to the tank.

If you really want to try to catch them, they typically come out at night or you can move your rocks around to try to coerce them out.

what it say :
The eunicids sometimes known as "rock worms" are mainly omnivores and live largely on detritus. They may be scavengers, and are found mostly in rocky habitats. Some species build tubes while others burrow into limestone. They are either errant or tubicolous frequently inhabiting coral reefs, sands and muddy substrates. These are the most commonly found worms that I encounter within live rock tunnel networks.

look around reefcentral and a few other places and you'll find various worms that get up around 6 feet long or so. very scary stuff.
