Just wanted to tell everyone hi. I've enjoyed everything I've read on the boards so far. It's nice to hook up with a knowledgable, amicable group. I live a few miles from Delta Downs in Vinton, La. I've had freshwater tanks for 25 years, and now I have the reef bug! I'm in the planning/acquisition stage on the reef system. Any advice would be appreciated.

Again, can't wait to interact with you.

Welcome. Vinton, why does that sound so familiar, and it has nothing to do with Delta Downs either. I go look it up and post agian later.

Thanks!

Have you found any good LFS in the area? I'm disappointed in the distance we have to drive to see an actual saltwater creature.

welcome

Bev,
Welcome to Marsh. I used to live in Orange. Made several hundred trips to the Longhorn when it was open years back. Never been to the Downs. Worked in just about every refinery from Beaumont to Lk. Chas.

Hope we can be of service. I can certainly tell you the things "not" to do. LOL!

Again Welcome.

Thanks everyone!

Steve,
I've taught PreK in Orange for the last 16 years. My husband has worked in all the refineries, too. He's been a scaffold builder, supervisor, form carpenter, etc and now he's a safety supervisor for WSI/Total Safety.

Been to the Longhorn ALOT. They don't make honky tonks like that anymore. Ray's a family friend. The arena and parking lot are a dirt bike track now.

Nice to meet you.

Beverly,

A fellow Cajun, oh goody :) I'm a Sulphur native, there is a new store in Sulphur on Ruth St across from the courthouse, I can't remember the name of it, I'll have to look up the name for you. Glad you found the board and Welcome.

A Cajun Aggie? Does it get any better?

I heard about that place. According to mapquest.com, it's right across the tracks. I searched and couldn't find it. If you could pinpoint it, I'd appreciate it.

It's not across the tracks?? Unless they moved, it's called Fintastic Aquarium, the phone number is 528-0404. Do you know where they moved Brimestone museum to? It's on the corner opposite the museaum in a little strip center.

What is it about the statement: "It's not across the Tracks" that bring up certain visions to me? Humm.
